Saturday 26th's Look back
28 Nov 2011

Football for me again shows its true colours and it was comforting to see the reactions in the wake of the shock news about Gary Speed. What a tragic loss and at such a young age - RIP

Saturday saw eight teams in action with the 5's having a rest for a week. Speaking to the ref after the 1's narrow defeat to Winchmore Hill it's good to see Andy has done a good job with them. According to the ref we had most of the second half and if it wasn't for the keeper we would have won. So the 2's revival took a temporary set back with a 4-0 drubbing at Civil but Chris has really got them organised and I know they will get better and better. Not much from the 3's yet but they lost to lowly Poly. The fours progress further in the AFA with another good away win and they are looking solid stuff. Vowlesy's 6's are doing a bit of a Jeckyl and Hyde this season and walked away from top of the table Civil with a 2-1 win. The 7's continued their good form with a tough 3-1 home to Kew, helped by a 14 SECOND goal from Vas they got a useful 3 points. 8's dissapointed again, on paper a good side and a good bunch of lads but that form needs to be turned into points, I am currently waiting for the transfer window to bring in a forward and a centre back. 9's travelled to Poly 8's and were a little unlucky to leave losing 1-0 in the cup.
